  1. NEW DELHI: The Technology Mission on Technical Textile (TMTT) has received approval from Ministry of Textiles on September 27. The mission aims to boost the growth of technical textiles industry.

    The Expenditure Finance Committee of India has cleared the way to open four new Centers of Excellence (CoE) in addition to the existing four centers. It is considered that the total eight centres will have investment about $40 million and the four new centres will be created with an investment of $22.2 million.

    The centres are designed to focus primarily on geo textiles, medical textiles, protective textiles and agro textiles have so far received $9.8 million. The entrepreneurs and researchers will be credited in technical textile areas like process, product and marketing through TMTT.
